Most all indoor plants require indirect, bright light. There are some that can tolerate less light, but plants are living things. They need natural light to grow + thrive. Indoor plants can not tolerate direct light, their leaves will burn.

Each plant has specific watering needs based on each indiviual plant’s needs. Two good rule of thumb: 1. More light = more frequent watering, as the plant will dry out quicker. 2. When questioning whether to water or not, it’s better to wait a little longer before watering - plants can recover quicker from drought rather than overwatering.
Sansevieria, ZZ Plants, succulents + cacti can go weeks, even months without frequent watering. In fact, these will die quickly if overwatered due to root rot.
Hoyas + aglaonema can tolerate drier soil, as well. Water these about once every 2 weeks, when soil has fully dried out.
Pothos, philodendron, monstera need to be watered about every 7-10 days, depending on how much light it is receiving. Water when soil has dried about halfway down.
Calathea, maranta, alocasia need more frequent watering. About once every 5-7 days, as the top inch of soil has dried out. These plants also LOVE humidity. Their leaves will dry out if they do not receive adequate humidity. These also are finicky when it comes to type of water used to water - they need to be watered with soft/distilled water, NOT hard/well water.
We HIGHLY recommend bottom watering your plants. Fill a bowl or sink with water, sit them down in it for the water to soak up from drainage hole in pot directly to the roots. This ensures the roots are receiving enough water evenly + helps to avoid the pesky fungus gnats that thrive on the top layer of soil being too wet.
